Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva Elegante: Specs and Release

The Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva Elegante is a 7 x 38 lancero from JRE Tobacco Co., made in Honduras from all-Honduran pinareno-seed tobacco and suggested at $22 a cigar. It will be hard to find because JRE Tobacco Co. will sell it only to stores that carry both the Robusto and the Toro, and each store can order two boxes a month. At Humidorist, we have not smoked it, so this page covers the published specs and gives no flavor or strength verdict.

What the Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva Elegante Is

The Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva Elegante is the third size in JRE Tobacco Co.'s Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva line. It is a regular-production 7 x 38 cigar. halfwheel calls the size a lancero, and Cigar Aficionado calls it a skinny panetela. Both outlets list the same 7 x 38 measurements.

The line debuted in 2025. halfwheel describes it as a belated 85th birthday cigar for JRE Tobacco Co. founder Julio R. Eiroa. Cigar Aficionado says the line arrived after multiple delays and marks both his 80th and 85th birthdays. Shortly after launch, Cigar Aficionado named the Toro its No. 25 Cigar of 2025.

JRE showed the new lancero at the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show, according to halfwheel. The yellow box is a family detail. Cigar Aficionado reports that yellow is Julio Eiroa's favorite color and the color of his 1961 Buick, which is illustrated on the lid.

What Pinareno Seed Means for This Blend

Pinareno is a Cuban-seed tobacco, and it is the only seed in the Elegante blend. Cigar Aficionado notes that the cigar uses none of the Honduran Corojo the Eiroa family is known for. The same report says pinareno is reportedly even harder to grow than corojo because it gives small yields and catches disease more easily.

halfwheel adds the history. Eiroa wanted to show off the pinareno seed, which came from Cuba to Central America around the same time as corojo. Because of corojo's disease resistance and yield, what halfwheel calls "the lighter pinareno seed" fell out of favor.

JRE Tobacco Co. is owned by Julio Eiroa and his son Justo. halfwheel reports that both JRE and CLE Cigar Co., owned by his son Christian, have recently released cigars with pinareno-seed tobacco. Why It Will Be Hard to Find

The Elegante will be hard to find because JRE Tobacco Co. limits who can order it and how many boxes each store gets. halfwheel reports that only stores carrying both the 85 Aniversario Reserva Robusto and Toro can order it. Each of those stores is capped at two boxes a month.

Two boxes of 20 comes to 40 cigars per store per month. Neither source says how many stores carry the Robusto and Toro, so the total supply is unknown. Total production numbers are not published.

The tobacco limits supply as well. Cigar Aficionado says small pinareno yields keep the whole line in limited quantities, even though it is a regular part of JRE's portfolio.

Who Should Chase One

Try to get an Elegante if you want a long, thin 7 x 38 and you are willing to pay $22 for one cigar. Twenty cigars at that suggested price add up to $440, though neither source lists a box price. Cigar Aficionado reports that the 7 x 38 size appears in other Aladino brands and is reportedly the favorite vitola among the female members of the Eiroa family. Our cigar sizes guide shows how a 38 ring gauge compares with thicker formats.

Skip it if you prefer a thicker ring gauge. Skip it too if you want a known strength level, because none has been reported. Our cigar strength guide explains the scale. If you are new to cigars, see our best cigars for beginners list.

Our answer would change if a strength rating were published or if we smoked the cigar ourselves.
