Bocock Brothers Cigars: College Cigars, Prices and Blends
Bocock Brothers cigars are officially licensed college cigars, hand rolled in Danli, Honduras, and sold in hand painted boxes in each school's colors. At Humidorist, we have not smoked or reviewed them, so we give no quality verdict. Bocock Brothers lists formats, prices, blends and strength, and a fan, a gift buyer or a collector can use those to judge a box. It sells only to buyers 21 and over, and this page is written for adults.
Bocock Brothers is based in Houston, Texas, with production in Danli, Honduras (Jamastran Valley). Brothers Bryant and Doug Bocock, who grew up in Honduras, founded the company. Bocock Brothers calls itself the first and only officially licensed collegiate premium cigar company, partnered with Division I universities.
What the Collegiate Series Is
The Collegiate Series covers cigars, samplers, lighters, cutters and ashtrays made under official university license. Bocock Brothers lists the cigars in these formats. The prices below are Bocock Brothers' October 2026 listings.
| Format | Count | Price | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|---|

| Box | 20 cigars | $280 | Includes Ole Miss Rebels Trinidad Edition, North Texas Habano, Louisville Habano, Texas Tech Oil Field Reserve and Wake Forest Corojo |
| Collector box | 10 cigars | $290 to $399 | Hand painted special editions, such as the Michigan and Mizzou boxes covered below |
A 5-pack works out to $15 a cigar ($75 ÷ 5). A 20-count box works out to $14 a cigar ($280 ÷ 20). A collector box runs $29 to $39.90 a cigar ($290 ÷ 10 and $399 ÷ 10).
Are they good? We have not smoked or reviewed them, so we give no verdict. Bocock Brothers says it was Paris Smoke Easy Cigar of the Year in 2022 and 2023 (its own claim, which we have not verified) and lists its releases as medium to full strength.
Bocock Brothers' site shows 21 university partners: Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas State, Louisiana (Ragin' Cajuns), Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri (Mizzou), North Texas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, SMU, Southern Miss, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulane, UConn and Wake Forest. The brothers' father, Roberto Bocock, has ties to Louisiana State University (LSU), which Bocock Brothers says led to the college line.
Blends, Wrappers and Strength
Bocock Brothers chooses a Habano or Sumatra wrapper and a Toro or torpedo shape separately for each release, and says it works with the master blender at its allied factory, Casa Don Andres. Blends draw on Honduran leaf, Ecuadorian Corojo wrappers and Nicaraguan Sumatra. A Signature Sumatra blend was co-developed with master blender AJ Fernandez.
Three releases as listed:
- Ole Miss Rebels Trinidad Edition: 20 Toros at 52 x 6, Honduran Habano wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, Honduran and Nicaraguan filler, listed as medium strength, $280.
- Michigan National Champions Maduro Collector's Box: 10 Toros at 52 x 6, Honduran Maduro wrapper, Honduran binder, filler from Honduras, Nicaragua and Paraguay, listed as full strength, $290.
- Mizzou Stadium Series: 10 Toros at 52 x 6, Honduran Maduro wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, filler from Honduras, Nicaragua and Paraguay, listed as full strength, $399.
All three releases use the 52 x 6 Toro size. See our cigar sizes guide and best Toro cigars roundup for the 52 x 6 Toro. The Michigan Championship and Mizzou Centennial Boxes
Two of the collector boxes mark a single school event: a national championship and a stadium centennial.
The Michigan National Champions box is officially licensed by the University of Michigan. The box is hand painted in maize and blue, with the championship logo outside and the block M and "GO BLUE" inside the lid. Bocock Brothers calls it a single run with no reprint. Bocock Brothers suggests pairing it with an añejo rum, a peaty scotch or black coffee; our cigar and whiskey pairing guide covers the scotch route.
The Mizzou box marks the 100th year of Memorial Stadium (1926 to 2026) and is officially licensed by the University of Missouri. The box itself is a hand painted replica of the stadium. It is listed at $399.
Who Bocock Brothers Cigars Suit
Bocock Brothers cigars suit adult fans of a partner school who want their team on the box. They can also fit gift buying. Our best cigar gifts page lists other options if the recipient's school is not on the partner list. The single-run Michigan box and the stadium-replica Mizzou box fit collectors.
The Michigan and Mizzou boxes are listed as full strength, so a first-time smoker may prefer to start with our best cigars for beginners. Someone with no tie to a partner school may prefer other options; our best cigar brands list covers non-college options.
Bocock Brothers says it was named Paris Smoke Easy Cigar of the Year in 2022 and 2023. That is its own claim, and we have not verified it.
