Casa Carrillo 2026 TAA Exclusive Specs and Price Guide
The Casa Carrillo 2026 TAA Exclusive is a 5 1/2 x 58 cigar with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. It is sold only through member shops of the Tobacconists' Association of America (TAA) at $14 a cigar or $140 for a box of 10. At Humidorist, we have not smoked it, so we report the specs, price, and release details published by halfwheel and Cigar Journal and give no taste verdict.
What the Casa Carrillo 2026 TAA Exclusive Is
The Casa Carrillo 2026 TAA Exclusive is a limited-edition 5 1/2 x 58 cigar made for TAA retail members, with production capped at 1,000 boxes of 10. halfwheel reports that the size was "selected to show the complexity of the blend." Casa Carrillo said it will not make any more of these once they are gone. Hunt for it if you already smoke Casa Carrillo cigars and a TAA member shop is within reach. Skip it if you want a proven everyday value cigar.
These are the published specifications, drawn from halfwheel's spec table and Cigar Journal's announcement. MSRP is the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

1,000 boxes times 10 cigars equals 10,000 cigars in total. If you want to see where a 5 1/2 x 58 sits among common shapes, our cigar sizes guide lays out the standard lengths and ring gauges.
The two reports give slightly different timing. halfwheel's October 23, 2026 headline said the cigar was coming the following week, and its table listed the status as planned for release in October 2026. Cigar Journal, publishing on October 28, 2026, said shipping would begin the next week.
The Blend and Its Five Countries
The blend uses tobacco from five countries: Ecuador supplies the wrapper and binder, and the filler comes from the United States, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Cigar Journal describes the cigar as medium-plus in strength. That label comes from Casa Carrillo, and we have no independent read on strength or flavor.
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr., founder and master blender, explained the blend in the press release that halfwheel and Cigar Journal both quote:
"With the 2026 TAA Exclusive, we wanted to bring together tobaccos from different origins to create a blend with depth, character, and balance. The Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Ecuadorian Sumatra binder provide a distinctive foundation, while the combination of fillers from four countries adds complexity. The result is a medium-plus cigar that reflects our passion for blending and our commitment to creating something special for TAA members."
Depth, character and balance are the blender's stated goals for this cigar. We have not smoked it, so the quote is the only description of the smoke we can report. Read it as Casa Carrillo's intent for the blend.
Two leaf names on the spec sheet may be new to you. Our cigar wrappers guide explains Habano and Sumatra leaf, and our cigar strength guide shows where medium-plus falls between mild and full.
How the 2026 Release Compares With the 2025 TAA Exclusive
The 2026 release changes the size, the wrapper and the price of Casa Carrillo's TAA exclusive while keeping the same 1,000-box run. halfwheel's October 22, 2025 report on the earlier cigar supplies the 2025 column.
| Detail | 2026 TAA Exclusive | 2025 TAA Exclusive |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 5 1/2 x 58 | 6 x 54 box-pressed toro |
| Wrapper | Ecuadorian Habano | Connecticut broadleaf |
| Binder | Ecuadorian Sumatra | Dominican |
| Filler | United States, Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic | Nicaragua, United States |
| MSRP per cigar | $14 | $15 |
| MSRP per box of 10 | $140 | $150 |
| Production run | 1,000 boxes of 10 | 1,000 boxes of 10 |
| Shipping | Late October to early November 2026, per the reports | November 2025 |
The 2026 cigar costs $1 less per stick ($14 against $15) and $10 less per box ($140 against $150). It is half an inch shorter (5 1/2 inches against 6) and wider, with a 58 ring gauge against 54. The filler list grows from two countries to four.
The wrapper changed between the two releases. The 2025 cigar wore Connecticut broadleaf, and the 2026 cigar wears Ecuadorian Habano over a different binder. Treat the 2026 release as a new blend rather than a reissue of last year's.
The 2025 cigar also carried some history. It was the first release under the Casa Carrillo name, because the company known as E.P. Carrillo rebranded to Casa Carrillo earlier in 2025. halfwheel's 2025 report notes that Casa Carrillo has regularly made limited editions for the TAA, and a November 10, 2025 update said those cigars had begun arriving in stores.
Whether the Casa Carrillo 2026 TAA Exclusive Is Worth Hunting Down
Hunt for the Casa Carrillo 2026 TAA Exclusive if you already smoke Casa Carrillo cigars and a TAA member shop is within reach. Skip it if you want a proven everyday value cigar, because we have not reviewed this blend and the run ends at 10,000 cigars.
Chase it if:
- You already like Casa Carrillo and want its 2026 TAA blend before the 1,000 boxes sell through.
- You want a medium-plus cigar, per Casa Carrillo's description, in a 5 1/2 x 58 size.
- A TAA member shop near you, or one you buy from online, ordered the release.
Skip it if:
- You want tasting notes from a reviewer before you spend $140 on a box.
- You want a cigar you can rebuy next year, since Casa Carrillo says this run will not be remade.
- You have no TAA shop nearby and do not want to track one down.
The per-cigar math is flat at MSRP. Divide the $140 box price by 10 and you get exactly $14, the same as the single price, so a full box carries no built-in discount at suggested retail. If your shop sells singles at $14, one cigar is a cheaper way to try a blend we have not reviewed.
Two things would change our answer. A shop price well above the $14 MSRP would weaken the case for buying. Later reviews describing a profile you dislike would be a reason to pass even at full MSRP.

How TAA Exclusives Reach Shops
TAA exclusives reach smokers only through member retailers, so you can buy one only if a TAA shop ordered it. The TAA is a membership group of around 80 retailers and approximately 40 manufacturers that gathers once a year. The 2026 gathering runs October 25 to 29 at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.
Retailers order at two selling events during the gathering. At the Dream Machine, retailers place collective orders to get larger discounts, and the second event is a more traditional trade show. Typically around a dozen manufacturers release exclusives for members under the TAA Exclusive Series Program (ESP), and each agrees to give at least 50 cents per cigar to the organization.
Casa Carrillo is one of 10 manufacturers that have announced 2026 ESP releases. Another is J.C. Newman.
We do not keep a list of TAA member stores or track street prices. Do not assume every cigar shop will carry the 2026 TAA Exclusive. Cigars are for adults 21 and older.
To find a box:
- Phone a local tobacconist and ask whether it is a TAA member and whether it ordered the Casa Carrillo release. Our guide on where to buy cigars in stores covers how to work with a specialty shop.
- Check whether any retailer in our guide to the best places to buy cigars online lists it.
